Project Description: We are building a trading card website on Squarespace for the Australian market and need a custom search function for Magic: The Gathering cards. The functionality should replicate what is seen on: MTGGoldfish.com, TCGplayer.com, CardKingdom.com Requirements: 1. Autocomplete Search - As the user types a Magic: The Gathering card name, live search suggestions appear. - If spelled correctly, closest matches are shown. 2. Card Detail Page - When the user hits enter (on a correctly spelled card name), they are taken to a dedicated card detail page. - Card page should display: Card image, Rules text, Artist name, Card number, Set information 3. Card Variants - On the card page, display options for other printings/variants of that card. 4. Squarespace Compatibility - Must work within Squarespace (using developer mode, custom code blocks, or API integration). - Should not break the mobile responsiveness of the template. Deliverables: - Fully working search bar with autocomplete embedded into Squarespace site - Card detail template page dynamically populated with card data - Variants section on card page - Integration with an MTG card database (e.g., Scryfall API or similar) - Documentation for how we can maintain/extend the feature Preferred Tech / Tools (open to your advice): - Squarespace Developer Mode + Custom Code Injection - JavaScript (for live search & API calls) - Use of MTG database APIs (Scryfall strongly preferred, but open to recommendations) Timeline: - Target completion: 1–2 weeks Budget: - Fixed Price: AUD $100 Ideal Freelancer Profile: - Experience with Squarespace custom coding & API integrations - Strong JavaScript knowledge (autocomplete, live search, UI logic) - Prior work with eCommerce or collectible databases is a plus - Clear communicator (we are non-technical founders, English is our common language) Add your approach to building this search + detail page on Squarespace to proposal
