What is the hype around Tailwind?

I understand that it is nice to be able to style things in your html files, but after going into more complex visuals. It just becomes a nightmare. Just a long string of ClassNames. Maybe I'm not getting something, but wouldn't vanilla CSS just be better? Maybe someone could tell me some better CSS frameworks that would suit me.
