Plgsql function problems

Has anyone experience with postgres functions or rls? Iam building a chat app with supabase and need to regulate access to the messages table using these methods. It has gotten quite complicated and I couldnt make any progress for a while. (Its mostly one function) Any help is greatly appreciated!
