need help choosing a laptop

I’m going to be a computer science major and I want a laptop that will serve me well through that. Rn i am looking at a MacBook M2 with 16gb Ram or a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon. Which of the 2 is better for coding and general stuff? Or what other more affordable options are there?
