Find all co-ordinates that lie in an irregular shape

More of a maths question so i'm not sure if it should be here but is there an algorithm given all co-ordinates to integer edge's of a irregular shape it can determine if the co-ordinates lie in them? e.g. but shapes can be any number of sides and shapes
