javafx project resources

We have to to a gui for our game for a class. Does anyone know good resources for learning javafx or would be open to help me do some of the basics (layouts, answering a few questions every now and then) so I can then dive deeper into it. Our class didn't explain things very well and I have an idea but I don't know how I would make it happen even in a simple design
