does java 21 work with gradle 8.3

hey guys i am looking to do some android development and i am currently trying to run an expo command, the command output states i am running gradle 8.3 which has support for java 20, and i get an error stating that i do not have JDK installed, but i can only find JDK 21 or 17 on the oracle website, i dont think 17 works with gradle 8.3, so my question is **does java 21 work with gradle 8.3**??
