Html audio play for website

Whats the best way to have audio autoplay on a website on newer browsers? Ive got it working fine with internet explorer. This is for a button on my website that loads a page with a meme, so its not just playing randomly, the button leads to a page with a gif and mp3 audio playing in the background.
